“Woodroe” aka “J Woodz”, born and raised in Big Lah (Laurel).  I’ve been a music guy all my life, I play drums and keyboard.  Attended Tougaloo College on a choir scholarship that allowed me to travel across the U.S. singing classical music, but I’ve been writing my own raps & poetry since the 4th grade.  I started out rapping in the back room with my cousins and soon found I had a gift for lyrics.

My biggest musical influences are J Cole, Nipsey, Kodak Black, NoCap, Don Trip, Big KRIT and Kevin Gates.  My music stands out because of my lyrics. I give substance through REAL bars that everybody can relate to.  Lyrically, I’ll be in the conversation with the best of the best…
